What do I do when…?

30th Jul 2008

I was asked a question this past weekend that I think a lot of people ask while being on their spiritual path. The question was; “What do I do if…?” and “What do I do when…?” The answer is simple but yet very profound. First of all, you have to understand that the 3 phases of the “Trinity of Life”, thoughts, feelings and action are interconnected but not one in the same. There are small but yet powerful gaps between each of them. Directly relating to the above questions; take full advantage of the gap between the feeling and the action. During that gap, ask yourself, “What part of me do I want to have show up?” in relation to what is occurring. I will be writing more about this during the rest of this week.

Today, I choose how I want to respond by choose what I want to see about myself.

Are your bags packed? How do you pack?

25th Jul 2008

We all have bags that we seem to go with us though our lives. Depending on how you pack those bags and what you choose to put in them determines how heavy they may seem to you.

By realizing and understanding that those bags are your past and have nothing to do with you or the now, you can free yourself from the undue stress and “weight”. When we dance in the ego and engage, don’t those bags seem heavier? Stay in your awareness and understand that the ego is a sneaky bastard. It will come tapping on your front door, with all its baggage at any given time. There and then, you have the choice to allow them in or not.

Today I choose to travel light. In the understanding that the bags I choose to carry are those filled with love, possibilities, choice and awareness.

There are no problems in the NOW.

24th Jul 2008

When you are in the now, there could not be any problems. There are 3 ingredients that are necessary to cook up a problem. There has to be an “I”, some “wanting” and a time issue. All 3 of those ingredients are based upon lack of consciousness. In actuality, in the realm of the absolute, there is no “I” there. All three ingredients are based upon mind constructs and when you are in the mind, you can not be in your full consciousness. You are either in the mind or you are in your consciousness,… You can not be in both at the same time. Now, granted, they can flip back and forth quite quickly.

Chetan’s example yesterday explained it quite well. When she was observing it going on, she was in her consciousness, but when she began to participate, she was in her mind.

Do not fight with being in your mind, for you have been conditioned and trained by society to be there. Simply begin to observe it when it is happening. Recognize that it is happening. Accept that it is happening, and just let it be. If you fuck around with it, you are back in the mind. If you are fighting with it, you are back in the mind. Begin to withdraw your attention from the mind and sink down into you consciousness and allow that to be. The more and more that you begin to practice this; the less you will be triggered by such non-sense.

Today, I begin to witness the antics of the mind. As I witness this occurring, I witness through the eyes of the Divinity that I am.

Do you let fear rule in your now?

23rd Jul 2008

Does the fear of things to come; things you will be doing, perhaps in the distant or not so distant future, have your mind running a million miles an hour with “what ifs?”

Personally, in this period of my life I am branching out and trying new things. I have observed the mind putting in the “what ifs” and bringing up and actually putting it into a mini film of things that could happen. They are all fear based. I recognize that. But what I have come to see in my observation and non participation of those mind games; the flow of what I dread, or fear, never looks the way it had played out in the mini films of the mind. I have also come to realize that living or dancing with the fear does not look anything like what the mind said it would. Taking a minute and seeing that the fears are only thought forms and also realizing that they have nothing to do with what is, can be very beneficial.

If you can observe them, then you can begin to realize that the thoughts that are forcing themselves on you are not actually you at all, but rather just some bunch of tedious thought-forms.

I have come to realize that when we begin to observe it, and accept it, then we can be more conscious in the flow of life. This way you will be able to enjoy fully the moment you are in. Why ruin a perfectly good moment with perceptions of what could be? And possible….probably never will be or look anything like your minds mini films that are playing out

Today, I will be totally in the now. I will only observe and accept that those perceived fears are just little films playing in the mind. I will observe them, embrace them and accept them.

Setting your intention and then trusting

22nd Jul 2008

Do you go with the flow? Do you write your own daily script or do you attempt to control situations and people around you? There is a lot to be said about both perspectives; going with the flow or writing your own script. However, attempting to control others is not only futile, but also worthless. Take just a minute and place your hand upon your heart. When the hand is on your heart, please begin to understand that you have no control of anything that is not touching your hand. You, your perspective or your outlook on the situation is the only thing that you have any control over. Let the rest go.

Today is the day that I begin to remember my own divinity as well as the divinity in others. I am beginning to remember to set my intention for the day and then trust the process.

Monday morning outlook

21st Jul 2008

Today is Monday; the beginning of your week. How are you feeling? Are you rested from the weekend or more exhausted from doing weekend stuff? Are you looking with anticipation about your week or are you dreading what you think is coming down the pike? Are you just bored and nothing to look forward to or are you excited about the potential of the week? Ultimately, it is up to you, no matter what outside thing you may or may not have going on.

Today, and this moment in time is all that I have. I consciously submerse myself into the flow of life and enjoy the ride.

Are things as serious as you believe?

18th Jul 2008

Seriousness resides logistically only in one place, the mind. Can you begin to see that when you remove all of the stories that are based in need, time issues, power and control; it really isn’t that serious? Can you begin to see that the seriousness of the story is based up your past as well as some projected future? Learn to pull out the facts only. Learn to strive for peace for everyone involved. Learn to reach for peace and happiness. And most importantly, take full advantage of breath and the pauses before you respond.Today, I am sincere in my responses.

Today I pause, I breathe and then I respond.

Laughing your way through life

17th Jul 2008

We take the time to make all of these plans, but sometimes life throws other things into the mix and we just have to roll with the situation. If new things get thrown into the mix and they become a problem; who is having the problem? The answer is easy; it is the mind/ego. Could you laugh your way through it? Try it, it does make it easier as it passes through.

Today, I look for my joy. Today, I laugh with life. Today, I do not take things seriously.

“Old stuff & hidden qualities” being asked to be matured up.

14th Jul 2008

In many earlier blogs and discourses, I have mentioned that response to old ways of being supports the evolution of these qualities. It is our response which allows those things to mature along with us. It is through the maturity, those things either drop away from being an active part of our conditioned self or they can be fully embraced if it supports you and your life in the most current moments. But what if something arises again that you have already worked with, or something arises that appears to come out of the blue? Observation, awareness and response are still the qualities that unlock the chains that held the doors which separate the past from being a fresh and new moment in time. Parts or much of you may have spiritually matured and many facets get left behind simply because the awareness was not been brought to them. Or it may be that have matured as much as possible in those past moments but now they are being asked to be able to evolve with you and your new awareness. I offer to you now, to move with them and respond to them, no matter how many times they have surfaced in the past. Freedom and liberation is the benefit.

I live today with the awareness that life wants to support me to live a life of joy and peace. I also live with the awareness that the past continues to resurface, revealing those places that keep me confined to the past. It is through this awareness united with awareness that life supports a free life that I have the courage and the ability to respond from the Godliness that I am.

Acceptance of all the facets

11th Jul 2008

You are a very complex individual. Yes, it could be divided into 3 aspects; the mind, the body & the soul. However, within the mind, there are many sub-characteristics, many personalities and many facets. They have all been designed by situations that have occurred as well as consciously and unconsciously created by you. If you truly wish to be a whole being and to realize that you are a complete being, it would serve you to honor each one of those aspects as they arise. Denial, suppression or repression is only going to keep you fragmented and disjointed. Go into each one of these aspects as they arise. Go into them with awareness and with consciousness. See their purpose, observe their operating forces,… watch, observe and accept them as a sacred part of you. With that awareness, they can either be fully embraced and used or they will drop away on their own accord.

Today is the day that I honor whatever arises inside of me. I honor this as it arises from the Godliness that I am.
